When to call S&S
- Questions about dust or odors
- Interest in an in-duct air-cleaning device
- A proposed add-on you want explained
- A need to understand ongoing upkeep
Understand the cause and the scope
An air-cleaning product is not a substitute for fixing moisture sources or maintaining equipment. Ask which pollutants the product is designed to address, what evidence supports its claims, whether it produces ozone, and how it is maintained. Product capabilities differ.
Make a confident decision
S&S can discuss available equipment options and installation compatibility. We do not promise that an add-on diagnoses, treats, or prevents illness. Ask for the manufacturer’s product literature and the full installed cost, including replacement items.
Translate an air-quality concern into a product question
Start by naming the issue: visible dust, an odor, moisture, or a condition that began after a change in the home. Explain where it occurs and whether it persists when the HVAC system is off. That gives a proposed device a specific purpose to evaluate.
EPA identifies pollutant-source reduction and appropriate ventilation as central indoor-air strategies. An add-on should be considered in that context. Ask what evidence supports the exact product’s stated function and what problem would remain outside its capabilities.

Compare the complete product and upkeep
Request the exact model and manufacturer’s literature, the installation location, ongoing replacement items, power needs, and service access. Ask which recurring materials or visits are outside the initial price. A clear ownership picture is more useful than choosing on a broad “air purification” label.
Discuss whether the device produces ozone and how that question is documented. EPA does not certify air-cleaning devices, and its consumer guidance cautions against claims about ozone generators. Keep the conversation specific to equipment function and avoid treating an accessory as a diagnosis or treatment for a health concern.
- Exact model and defined purpose
- Evidence for claims and ozone information
- Compatibility, placement, and access
- Replacement items, service needs, and written coverage
Your questions, answered
Will an air cleaner solve every indoor air problem?
No. The source of the concern matters. A moisture or building-envelope issue may need work beyond an HVAC accessory.
How do I arrange a visit?
Start with the scheduling page or call 337-287-2132. We confirm your address, service zone, equipment, and available appointment.
How does S&S stand behind the work?
Our standard written workmanship coverage is one year on installations and 90 days on repairs unless a different written term applies. Maintenance requirements and other conditions apply; equipment warranties are separate.
Failure to maintain your unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions may void coverage under its 5- or 10-year factory parts warranty. Keep your maintenance records. The manufacturer’s written terms determine your coverage.
