Understand the cause and the scope
We evaluate capacity, indoor unit placement, outdoor access, line routing, drainage, and controls. A multi-zone layout needs a coordinated equipment selection. Ductless does not mean maintenance-free: filters, indoor coils, drains, and outdoor equipment still need care.
Make a confident decision
Explain how often the space is occupied, whether doors stay open, and what you want to improve. Ask how cleaning access and condensate drainage will work. A mini-split can remove moisture while cooling, but it is not a promise that every humidity concern will be solved.
Plan the rooms, not just the number of indoor heads
Make a list of the spaces you want conditioned, how often each is occupied, and whether connecting doors are usually open or closed. Note whether the goal is a whole-home solution, an addition, or a separate space with different use. Those choices affect what the design needs to accomplish.
DOE describes ductless heat pumps as a way to condition spaces without conventional distribution ducts. The absence of ducts does not remove the need to select suitable equipment and place the indoor units thoughtfully. Ask how the proposed combination serves each intended space.
Include the details you will live with
Before approving an installation, review the indoor appearance, outdoor location, line route, condensate drainage, power needs, and control arrangement. Ask how filter access and professional cleaning will work after furniture is in place. These are ownership questions as much as installation questions.
For an existing mini-split needing service, identify the affected indoor unit and any displayed code. Tell us whether other zones still operate and whether the problem occurs in heating, cooling, or both. Avoid clearing the code repeatedly before the technician can use the history.

Can one indoor head cool all my rooms?
That depends on the layout and load. Air does not reliably move through closed doors. We evaluate the rooms instead of assuming one head covers an entire floor.

How does S&S stand behind the work?
Our standard written workmanship coverage is one year on installations and 90 days on repairs unless a different written term applies. Maintenance requirements and other conditions apply; equipment warranties are separate.
Failure to maintain your unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions may void coverage under its 5- or 10-year factory parts warranty. Keep your maintenance records. The manufacturer’s written terms determine your coverage.
