Air conditioning installation & replacement

Engineer a better fit for your home. A replacement is an opportunity to address comfort concerns, equipment selection, and air distribution together. S&S develops home-specific options and makes the installation scope clear.

When to call S&S

  • A major repair on an aging system
  • Repeated breakdowns
  • Rooms that remain uncomfortable
  • A remodel, addition, or change in how you use the home

Understand the cause and the scope

Capacity is only one part of a successful installation. We consider the heating and cooling load, existing ductwork, access, controls, and the components that will remain. A larger unit is not automatically a better choice. The recommendation should connect equipment capabilities to the needs of the house.

Make a confident decision

Compare the complete scope: matched equipment, duct changes, electrical needs, drain work, controls, removal, startup, registration, and written workmanship coverage. Ask what is being reused and what is excluded. We explain the differences between your options so the decision is about the whole project.

Bring the home into the equipment decision

Start the consultation with a short list of goals: rooms that are difficult to cool, operating noise, moisture concerns, planned renovations, and how long you expect to use the home. Existing equipment size is useful background, but it should not be the only reason to choose the next system.

ENERGY STAR identifies home-specific sizing, airflow, refrigerant setup, and duct evaluation as important parts of installation quality. Ask which information is being used for your home and how any limitations of the existing distribution system affect the recommendation.

Use a complete installation comparison

Two proposals can list similar outdoor equipment while including very different work. Put the full scopes side by side and mark each item included, reused, excluded, or still unanswered. A clear comparison helps you understand the difference in price before selecting an option.

Discuss work around the equipment early. Access, drainage, controls, electrical changes, and coordination with other trades can affect the project. Ask how unexpected conditions or requested changes will be documented and approved.

  • Exact indoor/outdoor equipment combination and controls
  • Duct, return, transition, and insulation work
  • Refrigerant lines, drainage, electrical, and site-access scope
  • Removal, startup, permit/inspection responsibilities, and owner orientation
  • Registration documents, required maintenance, and written coverage

Leave the project with an ownership record

At closeout, ask where to find the model and serial numbers, how to operate the selected controls, which filters to use, and how to arrange ongoing care. Confirm the registration status and retain the equipment warranty alongside S&S’s separate workmanship terms.

If financing is part of the purchase, keep the lender agreement with the project documents. The equipment, installation scope, and written coverage should remain clear regardless of which payment option you choose.

From the S&S service records

Your questions, answered

What happens to my factory warranty?

The manufacturer sets coverage and registration requirements. S&S submits registration where possible; confirm completion and retain the documents. Parts coverage and S&S workmanship coverage are separate.

How do I arrange a visit?

Start with the scheduling page or call 337-287-2132. We confirm your address, service zone, equipment, and available appointment.

How does S&S stand behind the work?

Our standard written workmanship coverage is one year on installations and 90 days on repairs unless a different written term applies. Maintenance requirements and other conditions apply; equipment warranties are separate.

Protect your factory warranty.

Failure to maintain your unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions may void coverage under its 5- or 10-year factory parts warranty. Keep your maintenance records. The manufacturer’s written terms determine your coverage.

S&S replaced the entire HVAC system in my house last week. They were honest, communicative, and ON TIME. Nobody enjoys replacing their system in general, but the experience with S&S was quite refreshing, especially compared to the other more well known companies in town.

Had the best experience with these guys. Our ac went out yesterday evening and thought we had to go stay somewhere for a few days until it got fixed. But i was wrong. S & S HVAC came out within hours with a newer unit and replaced it within a few hours. I 100% recommend these guys they have the best customer service and same day service night or day!

Our air conditioner unit stopped working on a Sunday evening during a holiday weekend, they still came out quickly and got everything taken care of! They are honest, professional, responsive and truly care! Its hard to find companies willing to go above & beyond!

Many thanks to S&S for their quick response and repair of our central AC unit. The replacement was done quickly and professionally. He explained what was going on throughout the process and also took the time to let us know what to watch for moving forward to help keep our AC running properly. They were very reasonably priced, and with the cost of everything these days, you want someone who truly has your best interest in mind. I would highly recommend giving them a shot. They will definitely be the company I use moving forward.

From the first phone call I was impressed with the friendly customer service and clear up front pricing and availability. Scheduled an appointment for 2 days later for preventative maintenance and the tech showed up on time and even though my phone was not working and I couldn't confirm his 7am arrival he still showed up and completed everything and explained and answered all my questions. Very polite and neat. Cleaned and serviced my ac inside and out and has it running more efficiently now.

Yall when I say Gary did not disappoint, we have been having issues with our AC, we finally got to point where ac went completely out- so 2 days no air in 80 degree temperatures, and when I say he came in and got the job done in no time! QUICKEST fix I've experienced, very professional!

Called S&S HVAC AT 8am had a Tech here around 9am. Gary was very polite and knowledgeable, went right to work checking my A/C. Oh, by the way it was raining lightly, Gary didn't mind, he said as long as there wasn't any lightning. Went in the Attic to check main A/C and then went to outside to condensor and found problem, bad capacitor. Put new part and checked entire system and check all vents for temp.
