When to call S&S
- Your seasonal heating visit is due
- You have not kept recent service records
- Operation changed since last season
- A filter or airflow concern needs attention
Understand the cause and the scope
The S&S heating check considers the heat exchanger, venting, controls, and applicable equipment components. Findings are documented and repair needs explained. Maintenance cannot guarantee that no future failure will occur.
Make a confident decision
Keep the area around the heater accessible. Tell us about noises, odors, or repeated resets. Keep your filter care on schedule between visits, and retain professional service records with the equipment warranty.
Use the seasonal visit to document heating condition
When arranging furnace maintenance, share any previous ignition problem, repeated shutdown, unusual noise, or change in how rooms heat. If an earlier visit identified a concern that was deferred, have that record ready. Seasonal care is more useful when the technician can connect today’s findings with the system’s history.
ENERGY STAR’s heating checklist includes fuel connections, combustion, and heat-exchanger condition where applicable. Ask which checks fit your furnace and how the findings will be explained. Internal fuel and safety-component work belongs with a qualified professional.

Leave with a clear distinction between findings and repairs
Ask whether each noted item was inspected, cleaned, adjusted, repaired, or left for a separate decision. If corrective work is recommended, request the reason and scope. A maintenance invoice should help you understand what happened rather than merely record that someone visited.
Keep the completed visit record with your equipment documents. Confirm the filter type and the care expected between appointments. If you have Comfort Priority Club membership, use its written terms to distinguish the included heating check from separately approved repairs and excluded materials.
- Previous findings and recent changes
- Checks applicable to the actual furnace
- Corrective work requiring separate approval
- Filter instructions and retained maintenance record
Your questions, answered
Is this included in the club?
The Comfort Priority Club includes one heating check per membership year, along with one cooling tune-up. Repair costs and excluded items remain separate under the membership terms.
How do I arrange a visit?
Start with the scheduling page or call 337-287-2132. We confirm your address, service zone, equipment, and available appointment.
How does S&S stand behind the work?
Our standard written workmanship coverage is one year on installations and 90 days on repairs unless a different written term applies. Maintenance requirements and other conditions apply; equipment warranties are separate.
Failure to maintain your unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions may void coverage under its 5- or 10-year factory parts warranty. Keep your maintenance records. The manufacturer’s written terms determine your coverage.
