Confirm both utility accounts before choosing a heating system
The Town of Oberlin’s utility directory lists both Cleco and Beauregard Electric as electric-service contacts. For a furnace or heat-pump replacement, bring the current bills for the actual property and identify the fuel used by the existing heating equipment. The mailing address alone does not tell the project team which electric service and heating-fuel arrangements it will be working with.
Older natural-gas paperwork may show a previous utility name. Delta Utilities acquired CenterPoint Energy’s Louisiana natural-gas operations in April 2025. If that change applies to your account, use the current bill and provider contact when discussing service work. This does not establish gas availability at an address or mean that every Oberlin home uses the same provider.
When comparing equipment options, ask which electrical work, fuel connections and controls each option would require. Keep any utility coordination separate and identifiable in the installation scope.
